ouch HISTORY
Ouachita Railroad Company was originally part of the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad before its liquidation. It was operated briefly by the South Central Arkansas Railway from 1982 to 1983 and then acquired by the East Camden and Highland Railroad (EACH). In 1990, Arkansas Short Line Railroads, Inc. purchased the line, transforming it into a crucial part of our short-line network. Today, we continue the legacy of connecting southern Arkansas supporting local industries with reliable freight service.
